Prosthetics continued...
As with any kind of prosthesis, Dentures take time to get used to. Good prosthetic dentistry is a team effort involving patient, dental technician and dentist. We take time to ensure your Dentures are a perfect fit. This is the case as we realise you will be wearing them for most of the day and it is imperative that they do not irritate your gums or cause problems eating. With some practise, most patients find their speech, appearance and confidence will be 100%.
In some cases, i.e. when the patient has a complete lower Denture, Dental Implants may be recommended to hold the replacement teeth in position. This may be necessary as the complete lower Denture is largely retained by the skill of the patient to hold it in place using the tongue, lips and cheek muscles.
