Porcelain Veneers continued...
Porcelain laminate veneers are used to improve the aesthetic appearance of the teeth, to eliminate the gaps between the teeth, or address the problems of a 'gummy' smile, short or small teeth. They are often used as an alternative to moving misaligned or rotated teeth without lengthy orthodontic treatments. Porcelain Veneers can be used to provide a 'dental face lift'.
Veneers are a permanent solution and the teeth receiving the veneers need to be relatively intact and minimally restored or filled, as the success of this technology relies on the 'bond' of the veneer to the underlying enamel of your tooth. Once placed, the veneers are very strong and will resist most of the forces placed upon them by a normal diet.
