I felt I just had to write to say a huge thank you for all you have done over the past twelve months.
To say I was nervous of dentists is a huge understatement, I was petrified just crossing over the threshold, and had it not been for Rita who greeted me, talked me through it and reassured me on that first day, I may never have got to sit in the chair at all. Subsequent visits were just as reassuring and encouraging. Thank you Rita for your excellent customer care skills.
My first appointment was helped by the knowledge of having an anaesthtist on hand, to send me to la la land! Two extractions and prep work for implants went well, although, in fairness I was well out of it.
Wynand persuaded me to try 3 valium on my next visit, cheaper than anaesthetist, but I was very unsure. He said he would only do one filling to try it, and I agreed to trust him. To my surprise the valium worked and I got through it o.k. Although, I was relaxed I still could not wait to get out of that chair!
Wynand said I would need 4 valium to get me through the next appointment, a bridge & two fillings, sure enough he was right. I got through this very well, and was beginning to start to get over my fear of the dentist.
I had an appointment to prepare for the implants, and although no work was being done, I was not in panic mode which I would have been previously, and attended without any medication.
Today, I attended to have the implants fitted, and Wynand kindly offered to change the only amalgam filling left in my mouth to a white one. Panic set in... I had not had any medication! However, Wyand saw me through it all, including an enjection to numb the gum. I can't say I was totally happy, but hey I got through it, something not possible 12 months ago.
I will certainly recommend you to anyone who is classed as a "nervous patient", they may go home with a hole in their wallets, but they'll certainly go home feeling a whole lot better about dentists.
So thank you for all your patience, caring, and professionalism, you have changed my view of dentists.
