All-on-4
A fixed bridge is attached to dental implants – all in one visit. On the day of surgery, any remaining teeth are extracted, and 4-6 implants are placed. Usually, six implants are placed in the upper arch, with four in the lower arch.
This procedure has earned the nickname ‘teeth in a day’, ‘smile in a day’ or ‘same day teeth’. This is a drastic improvement on traditional implant procedures which can take six months or more to complete with extensive recovery time at each step of the progress.
Your first step in the procedure will be a consultation with Dr de Jager. During this consultation he will examine your mouth and take x-rays and a CT scan may also be required, which will enable Dr de Jager your suitability for this treatment.
He will also discuss alternative treatment options with you before you commit to anything.
If you need to have teeth extracted before your implants are inserted, this can usually be done on the same day as the implant placements.
On the day of surgery we can arrange for you to have sedation to help you relax during the procedure. Implants will placed and an implant retained bridge can usually be fitted on the same day and you will leave the practice with your ‘new smile’
Full aftercare advice will be given by our team but usually a more permanent bridge will then be fitted to the implants in approximately 6-9 months following the surgery and proper bone integration has taken place.
